Best of the Blogosphere

In my post on Garry Trudeau’s comic strip about bloggers, I named some of the blog posts that have impressed me in recent months. But I’m curious: if you were going to highlight a few posts to demonstrate the kind of quality work that bloggers have produced, what posts would you choose?

Think of it as a kind of mid-year Koufax Awards, except that there aren’t any awards, and the posts don’t have to be political in nature to be nominated. What I’m really looking for is great writing, period.

A few rules:

1. No blogwhoring — please don’t nominate your own posts or those of your closest friends;

2. Nominate as many posts as you’d like;

3. It would be great if you could say what you like about the posts you’re linking to;

4. Please concentrate on bloggers who are not being paid for their work (being supported by donations is a-ok);

5. Please embed your links using <a href> tags

That’s it. Let the links fly.

Matt:

come on, people. Has no one read a blog post that shook them in recent months?

It’s Friday, Matt. People don’t want to hear about deep moving blog posts. Try again on Tuesday. Fridays are good for memes. Here’s one. If you have all clean laundry and a hot date that evening, what pair of undies do you chose to wear and why?

Chris:

I’ll nominate Tarnier’s Basiotribe by Heinrich, which is simple, but wonderful and is exactly the kind of thing the really works well in the Blog medium.

Matt:

Chris: that was a powerful post. Wish I had thought of it myself.

Cookie: we’ll see how it goes. If need be, I’ll throw out another call on Monday or Tuesday.

As for your meme, here’s my answer.

And here’s mine.
