A Case of Identity

In response to Will Bunch’s excellent post on Judith Miller, American Joe posited this theory, first in Attytood’s comments, then on his own blog:

Theory on Miller Time

This is how I think it went:

Rove told Judy Miller about Plame. Miller told Cooper and Novak. Novak snitches on Miller to the Grand Jury and goes free.

This morning Miller tells Cooper it’s ok to tell the judge it was her. Miller goes to jail because she will not give up Rove.

Miller goes to jail for now. Until Rove gets her off.

To which I can only echo Peter Jones in the Sherlock Holmes novel The Red Headed League:

“You reasoned it out beautifully,” I exclaimed in unfeigned admiration. “It is so long a chain, and yet every link rings true.”
