Did you know that nine out of ten Ohio voters prefer Skippy the Bush Kangaroo to their regular brand of blog?
It’s true! Unfortunately, only one of them — a wealthy white Republican — was able to reach the head of the voting line and cast a ballot. Kenneth Blackwell assures us that “There was no widespread fraud, and there was no disenfranchisement.”
Skippy is now engaged in one of those random, idiosyncratic campaigns of blog serendipity: he and his gang of kangaroos are trying to reach a million visitors; and what’s more, they want to reach that benchmark on July 10, which is the third blogiversary of the site.
Why, you ask? Because that would be cool! So hop on over and give them a hand.
While you’re there, you might want to check out the podcast of an interview that skippy did with Ben Carter of Blue Grass Roots. In that interview, skippy — the man who coined the term “blogtopia” — makes the startling point that the term “blogosphere” is geometrically imprecise, suggesting, as it does, that the internet has a spheroid shape, when in fact the internet has no shape at all!
With insights like that, it’s no wonder that they’re closing in on a million satisfied customers.
