I’ve just put up pictures and movies from last night’s fundraiser for District Attorney candidate Seth Williams at The Black Sheep. It was wonderful not only to hear Seth rally the troops, but also to meet bloggers such as Chris Bowers from MyDD, Chris and Melissa from Rowhouse Logic, Dan and Ray from Young Philly Politics, and ACM of A Smoke-Filled Room.

Matt, great set of pix. I was sorry to have missed that one. Seth Williams sure looks to be great to the city…and I can see the enthusiam and confidence buildng from a distance. Nice work. Now…May 17…everyone has to get out the vote. GOTV!
Matt:
It was fun, Frank–even though a fair amount of money was raised, it didn’t feel like a fundraiser. The energy building around Williams’ campaign has been inspiring…but you’re right–in the end, it’s all about getting out the vote.
albert:
Great shots, I’m sorry I missed it. Anything for the darkroom?
Matt:
Thanks Albert. I don’t feel that they’re anything to write home about (still learning this camera), but it was cool to put the digital format to use. No film, unfortunately, and my basement continues to be filled with useless junk and scrap wood instead of a darkroom. But one of these days…
Dave:
I had a darkroom going for a while in my bathroom when I lived in an apartment in Havertown. No enlarger — just developing TMAX.
Are there any community dark rooms in Philly? When I lived in Syracuse — they had two up there. Pay a monthly fee, and use all the equipment and chemistry. There doesn’t seem to be anything like that down here.
Matt:
Here are a few Philly darkroom spaces:
The Light Room (Northern Liberties) [found via craig’s list; I haven’t been there]
I have been to a place in Merchantville, New Jersey (a 15-20 min. drive from Center City) called The Darkroom Studios that rents darkrooms space by the hour (I think it’s $7/hour for b/w enlargers. They also have color enlargers).
Melissa:
Hi Matt! It was nice to meet you at the fundraiser, I wish I was able to stick around longer. As promised, here is a link to the information about the Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson show at Campbell’s Field. http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/02003A998B5B7E80?artistid=734972&majorcatid=10001&minorcatid=1
(My html skills are lacking, so I’m sorry if this doesn’t actually work as a link.) Hope to see you at the concert.
