Tonight I’ll be at Drinking Liberally, the weekly gathering of progressives who like to get sloshed while discussing ways to rescue the country from the plague of wingnuts that has descended upon it. I’m looking forward to seeing friends and talking with them about how we can make a difference for the displaced Gulf-Coast families who are on their way to Philly.
A few weeks ago, Doron Taussig, a reporter from the Philadelphia Citypaper, visited us. I ended up talking to him quite a bit. And I spent the next day wondering what I was thinking, speaking so openly to a reporter after downing multiple pints. But the quotes in the article aren’t too bad. Check them out, and find out more about Drinking Liberally, here: A liberal bloggers’ drinking session becomes must-do politics.
Doran calls me “an amiable graduate student and blog evangelist,” a description that seems fitting, considering the fact that I spent half the night praising the power and beauty of blogs.
At some point, I may take that act on the road, and start opening up ministries all across the nation. I hear there’s a pretty penny to be made in that racket.
If and when I don the white robes, I hope that some of the more vocal commenters here will join the choir and sing hymns in perfect harmony.

Eric:
Two best things about becoming an evangelist: (1) non-profit means big bucks, and (2) you can call for the assassination of world leaders with little-to-no recourse! (Plus you’re already ordained, so you’re half-way there. Good luck!)
